ASD Loudonville Bikepath Bridge and Pathway, Loudonville, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. prepared ODOT Transportation Enhancement Funding application to obtain 80% funding for the construction of a bike path bridge over the Black Fork of the Mohican River. ODOT awarded Loudonville TEA funds for the construction cost based upon the grant application. Engineering Associates, Inc. completed design plans for 525 feet of new bike path to connect to existing paths and a 14’ wide x 116’ long single span, prefabricated half-through truss bridge on capped pile abutments. ODOT LPA contract bidding documents were prepared and contract bidding and award was coordinated by our office. The construction cost was $250,000.

RIC Richland Bike Path, Richland County, Ohio

Engineering Associates prepared construction plans for an 18.4 mile long bikepath on the abandoned B&O Railroad track in Richland County. The project began in Butler and ended at North Park in Mansfield. The project required the re-creation of the original railroad centerline for the entire length of the project. The path was a 10 foot wide paved surface with turf shoulders. The alignment included 20 side road crossing (4 State Routes), 17 bridges ranging in span from 21 – 269 feet, 25 culverts, and 24 driveway crossings. Several locations along the bikepath required minor relocations from the centerline to avoid major impacts to adjoining properties or to cross roads at 90 angles. The relocations were accomplished without requiring additional right of way. Bridge work involved placing decks and railings on existing bridges. Signing and pavement marking details were included in the plans. The construction cost was $3,000,000.

Orr Park Basketball Court Improvements, Orrville, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services for the detailed design and construction administration for the replacement of basketball courts at Orr Park. Funding for this project included an Ohio Department of Natural Resources NatureWorks Grant. Estimated construction cost was $64,000.

New Wooster High School, Wooster, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including detailed site design on the new High School including site grading, utility connects, field work, surveying and stormwater management. This project also included construction services including site and building construction staking, shop drawing review and coordination between owner, contractor and construction manager. The construction cost was $30,000,000.

Wayne County Public Library, Wooster, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including field work and preparing civil site drawings in AutoCAD for a new Wayne County Public Library building. Established GPS survey control and tied all topography and underground utilities to it. Provided construction staking for building columns, and foundation, parking area, storm drainage, sanitary sewers, and water lines. Coordinated site drawings with the project architect and the construction manager. The construction cost was $9,500.000.

LUK Parking Facilities, Wooster, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including detailed site, construction administration and construction staking design for a 3 phase parking lot expansion. Improvements consisted of an asphalt parking lot with landscaping islands, a storm sewer system and a storm water detention basin.

Kidron Wastewater Collection and Treatment System, Wayne County, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including the preliminary report, detailed design, construction administration, and construction observation for a new sanitary sewer collection system and wastewater treatment plant. The preliminary report evaluated alternatives for the collection and treatment of the wastewater based on economic and environmental factors and recommended an alternative for implementation. The sanitary sewer portion included installing 6,400 feet of 10″ gravity sewer and 21,000 feet of 8″ gravity sewer. The treatment plant consisted of a 160,000 gallon per day extended aeration plant with rapid sand filtration, UV disinfection, and phosphorus removal. Funding for this project included the Ohio Public Works Commission and USDA Rural Development. The construction cost was $3,200,000.

Lodi Wastewater Treatment Plant, Lodi, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including the preliminary report, detailed design, construction administration, and construction observation for a major upgrade and expansion to the existing treatment plant providing treatment for 0.800 million gallons per day based upon average daily flow and up to 4.330 million gallons per day based upon peak wet weather flow. The project included new influent pumping, preliminary screening, grit removal, aeration tanks, aerobic digesters, tertiary filters, UV disinfection, phosphorous removal, septage receiving, sludge pumping, sludge dewatering, control building and tertiary filter building as well as conversion of existing units to clarifiers and flow equalization. The construction cost was $6.18 million.

Jeromesville Wastewater Collection and Treatment System, Jeromesville, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including the preliminary report, detailed design, construction administration, and construction observation for a new sanitary sewer collection system and wastewater treatment plant. The preliminary report evaluated alternatives for the collection and treatment of the wastewater based on economic and environmental factors and recommended an alternative for implementation. The sanitary sewer portion included installing 4,000 feet of 10″ gravity sewer, 11,300 feet of 8″ gravity sewer, and two pump stations. The treatment plant consisted of a 66,000 gallon per day extended aeration plant with slow sand filtration and UV disinfection. Funding for this project included the Ohio Public Works Commission, CDBG, OWDA, and USDA Rural Development. The construction cost was $2,860,000.

Beach City Wastewater Treatment Improvements, Beach City, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including the design, construction administration and construction observation for an expansion and reconstruction project that increased plant capacity to 0.3 mgd. Improvements consisted of a new influent structure with raw sewage pumps, a new preliminary treatment building with rotary screens, two new oxidation ditches with center clarifiers, a new tertiary filter and U.V. disinfection building, reconstruction of the aerobic digester into two units and converting two aeration tanks into flow equalization tanks. Funding for this project included USDA Rural Development. The construction cost was $3,050,000.
