Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including the preliminary report, detailed design, construction administration and construction observation for a new water treatment plant. Improvements included a new 0.288 million gallon per day water treatment plant providing iron and manganese removal, softening, solids reduction, disinfection, fluoridation and corrosion control. Iron and manganese removal will be accomplished by chemical oxidation followed by pressure filtration, softening and solids reduction will be accomplished by nanofiltration and disinfection, fluoridation and corrosion control will be accomplished by chemical addition. This project also included a pilot study of the nanofiltration membrane as required by Ohio EPA, two 200 gallon per minute wells and 2,150 feet of 8 to 18 inch transmission main. The construction cost was $1,954,000.
