Eastwood Wastewater Collection and Treatment System, Wayne County, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including the preliminary report, detailed design, construction administration, and construction observation for a sanitary sewer collection system improvements and new wastewater treatment plant. The preliminary report evaluated alternatives for the collection and treatment of the wastewater based on economic and environmental factors and recommended an alternative for implementation. The sanitary sewer portion included installing 6,700 feet of 12″ gravity sewer and 5,100 feet of 8″ gravity sewer. The treatment plant consisted of a 160,000 gallon per day membrane bioreactor plant with UV disinfection, and phosphorus removal. Funding for this project included the Ohio Public Works Commission, ARRA and USDA Rural Development. The construction cost was $2,640,000.

West Salem Water Treatment Plant, West Salem, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including the preliminary report, detailed design, construction administration and construction observation for a new water treatment plant. Improvements included a new 0.288 million gallon per day water treatment plant providing iron and manganese removal, softening, solids reduction, disinfection, fluoridation and corrosion control. Iron and manganese removal will be accomplished by chemical oxidation followed by pressure filtration, softening and solids reduction will be accomplished by nanofiltration and disinfection, fluoridation and corrosion control will be accomplished by chemical addition. This project also included a pilot study of the nanofiltration membrane as required by Ohio EPA, two 200 gallon per minute wells and 2,150 feet of 8 to 18 inch transmission main. The construction cost was $1,954,000.

Doylestown South Well Field and Raw Water Line, Doylestown, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including the detailed design, construction administration, and construction observation for a new 300 gallon per minute water supply well and 18,000 feet of 12″ water line. The water well included a radio telemetry control system. The construction cost was $1,000,000.

Wayne County Care Center Water System Improvements, Wooster, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services included detailed design, construction administration, and construction observation of a new 17,000 gallon per day water supply, treatment, and storage system for the Care Center. The water supply consisted of two new groundwater wells. Treatment consisted of pressure filters to remove iron and manganese, pressure softeners to remove hardness, and disinfection. Storage consisted of 75,000 gallon elevated water tank. This project was funded in part by grants from the Ohio Public Works Commission and CDBG. The construction cost was $700,000.

Fredericksburg Water System Improvements, Fredericksburg, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including detailed design, construction administration and construction observation for the construction of a waterline to a new water reservoir. Improvements included 3,000 feet of 8″ waterline replacement and a 160,000 gallon prestressed concrete water storage tank. This project was funded in part by grants from the Ohio Public Works Commission and CDBG. The construction cost was $925,000.

Sunset Valley Dairy Farm Manure Storage Facility, Stone Creek, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. is providing services including detailed design and construction observation of a manure settling tank and sand separation lane. The reinforced concrete tank contains weep walls to dewater and storm manure solids. The tank has a capacity of 84,000 cubic feet.

NRCS: Joseph Frankenberg Dairy Manure Storage Facility, West Salem, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including detailed design of a concrete 58,000 cubic foot manure storage facility for the Frankenberg Dairy Farm. The construction cost was $245,000.

Ayers Farm Manure Settling Basin, Perrysville, Ohio

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided services including detailed design, and construction observation of a manure settling basin and sand separation lane. The reinforced concrete basin contained weep walls to remove and store solids. The basin has a storage volume of 202,500 cubic feet.

WAY-71-0.28, ODOT District 3

Engineering Associates, Inc. provided engineering services for a District 3 project that replaced the existing four lane divided highway with a new six lane divided highway. The project included roadway design, structural design, part-width maintenance of traffic, rest area parking area re-configuration using MSE walls, and slope repair. The average daily traffic was 45,100. The project was 6.76 miles long with a construction cost of $26,800,000.
